SEASONAL FASHIONS
Spring flowers are blooming and the
colors of Spring are popping up in clothing and accessories. If you have
seen the Golden Globes on an entertainment website or in a fashion
magazine you have seen some of these colors already. They are colors
that fall into three categories. The first is earthly tones that include
silvery-pink; rose pink, gray, dark lavender, periwinkle, dark blue, black, burgundy, fudge brown, and forest green.
These colors do not reflect boldness, but are a little on the
conservative/safe side. These colors will tend to be used in clothing
mainly as solids and stripes.
The
second category is the "wow colors." They are ones that make a very bold
statement. They are bright, lively, and say, "Look at me!" They include
orange-red, light gray, light lavender, orange, wine red, bright red, magenta, and purple. In clothing for the next fashion season these particular colors will be used in floral prints, stripes, solids, and more.
The last category of colors for the Spring 2011 season are primary and a few "fruit" colors. These include white, bright yellow, lime green, blue, florescent green, plain green, dark red, dark blue, burgundy, and jungle green. These colors will be used in clothing in a mix of the first and second categories.
In
speaking of jewelry, these colors will come out in smaller sizes like
small buttons or short dangles. If there is a boldness besides in the
color of the clothing, it will be accented with bracelets and rings.
However,
there are a few trends in fashion earrings that are sneaking past
categories of the Spring season previously mentioned. The genuine feather, that comes in various colors, is both vibrant and neutral and a new hit in fashion. Metal plate feathers are popular too. Geometric shapes with
long sticks below a diamond or oval shape in either gold- or
silver-plating are coming into vogue as well. Other shapes that are
popular include multi ring jewelry and the bold look of copper with a colored gemstone, especially gemstone turquoise. Other trends that are not as popular for Spring, but still trendy, are crystals, natural gems, flowers, and colored or dyed pearls.
